When is a disaster not a disaster?

The recent heavy rain and flooding brings back memories of the flooding in 2007 when the M1 and M5 motorways were shut and many businesses and homes were evacuated due to flooding.

At this time, Arc Solutions were working at a client’s offices when the local river burst its banks forcing the closure of the office.  The  resulting mayhem while staff were re-assigned to  offices in other parts of the country and inadequate business continuity arrangements were invoked showed that the plans were inadequate.  The firm had to put a brave face on a serious challenge to its business.

This experience reflects the findings of the 2008 BERR report that more than a quarter of UK companies do not have a disaster recovery plan in place and nearly half of those that have plans (48%) had not tested them in the last year.

So if you need support in running a test of your business continuity / disaster recovery arrangements why not contact Simon Wright  to see how Arc Solutions can lighten the load for your management team and give you the reassurance you need that your business is prepared.
