Lynx Financial Systems and beyond
Simon was recruited by Lynx Financial Systems (now TietoEnator) as a product consultant to lead on the FSA Mortgage Regulation requirements. In addition to Mortgage Regulation, Simon gained experience with two large Mutuals improving ATM systems.
When Lynx went through a downturn in business, redundancy created an opportunity for Simon to set up his own business and to move to his first client: Bristol & West, a blue chip financial services company based in Bristol.
The Business analyst role in Bristol focused on parameterisation of the Summit system to suit the user’s requirements. The client was very satisfied and reported 83% of Simon’s consultancy work as very effective. The role also involved advising the testing team as to how to design and execute tests prior to acceptance.
The Royal Bank of Scotland group selected Arc Solutions to support the testing of a new software platform for mortgage lending. The role was to manage all aspects of the system test environments and developing the system test strategy so that the test team could focus on preparation of test scripts. Also Simon was able to support the system testing team by providing specialist technical understanding of the Summit system.
